Deputy Prime Minister Mai Văn Chính Attended the 22nd CAEXPO in Nanning, China

The China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) are among the region’s most important economic and trade events. On September 16, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Văn Chính led a high-ranking Vietnamese Government delegation to attend the 22nd CAEXPO in Nanning, China. His participation reaffirmed Vietnam’s strong commitment to ASEAN-China economic cooperation while opening new opportunities for investment, trade, and strategic connectivity.

Vietnam’s National Pavilion at CAEXPO 2025

From September 17 to 21, the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) officially took place in Nanning, China. The event gathered over 3,200 businesses from 60 countries under the theme: “Digital intelligence drives development – Innovation shapes the future – Seizing new opportunities from ACFTA 3.0 to build a community with a shared future.”‘

This year, Dong Nai province represents 34 Vietnamese provinces and cities at CAEXPO. The Vietnam National Pavilion, themed “Beautiful City – Vietnam”, aims to promote the image of a dynamic, traditional, and globally integrated Vietnam.

Dong Nai’s pavilion showcases:

  • Key export products that have entered the Chinese market with GACC certification.
  • A portfolio of priority investment projects.
  • Its advantages as Vietnam’s “industrial hub”, home to major infrastructure projects, notably the Long Thanh International Airport, one of the largest in Southeast Asia.

The Vietnam National Pavilion highlights an image of a vibrant, innovative, and globally connected Dong Nai, while reflecting its aspiration to build a province that is “modern – civilized – rich in identity.”

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Văn Chính’s Activities at CAEXPO 2025

During the event, on September 16, 2025, in Nanning, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Văn Chính held a series of high-level bilateral meetings.

Meeting with Guangxi Party Secretary Chen Gang:

During the meeting with Mr. Chen Gang, Secretary of the Guangxi Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Văn Chính expressed his pleasure in leading the Vietnamese Government delegation to attend CAEXPO and CABIS 2025 in Nanning. He warmly congratulated Guangxi on its significant socio-economic achievements in recent years, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, trade facilitation, and cross-border cooperation, which have positioned Guangxi as a dynamic growth region of China.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam attaches great importance to fostering comprehensive cooperation with Guangxi, given the province’s strategic location and its role as a gateway connecting Vietnam with China’s vast market and beyond. He highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration in key sectors such as trade expansion, investment promotion, transportation and logistics connectivity, and effective border management.

For his part, Secretary Chen Gang welcomed the Vietnamese delegation and reaffirmed Guangxi’s strong commitment to strengthening ties with Vietnam. Both sides agreed that the close cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities has yielded tangible outcomes, including a surge in two-way trade, improved cross-border transport infrastructure, and increasingly active people-to-people exchanges.

Meeting with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng:

The two leaders praised the positive progress in bilateral relations, highlighting:

They agreed to direct ministries, sectors, and localities to concretize high-level common understandings, promote practical cooperation across multiple fields, and advance Vietnam-China relations into a new phase of effective and sustainable development.
