Autumn Economic Forum 2025: Accelerating Vietnam’s Green and Digital Transformation

On November 26, 2025, the Autumn Economic Forum 2025 officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City – one of the most prominent economic events of the year. Under the theme “Green Transition in the Digital Era,” the Forum brought together Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, leaders of ministries and local authorities, along with more than 500 domestic and international businesses, experts, and diplomatic delegations.

This year’s Forum goes beyond a high-level conference. It represents a strategic step that reinforces Vietnam’s commitment to sustainable development, digital innovation, and international cooperation amid global economic uncertainties.

A notable highlight was the participation of senior leaders from the World Economic Forum (WEF), including Stephan Mergenthaler, who attended the plenary and thematic sessions. Their presence demonstrates the long-term commitment of international partners to Vietnam’s sustainable growth roadmap and digital transformation agenda.

Advancing the “Dual Transformation” Strategy

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the importance of Vietnam’s “dual transformation” strategy, the combination of green transition and digital transformation, with people placed at the center.

The Prime Minister highlighted that Vietnam aims to leverage new technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, renewable energy, and digital platforms to restructure production, enhance national competitiveness, and secure sustainable development in the coming decades.

Following the plenary session, the Forum hosted three parallel discussions focusing on key pillars of Vietnam’s transformation:

  • Smart manufacturing and global supply chains
  • Green logistics and smart seaport development
  • Smart governance for the digital era

These sessions addressed urgent questions on how Vietnam’s industrial sectors, logistics ecosystem, and provincial–municipal governance can adapt to global shifts while accelerating sustainable, tech-driven growth.

Commitments, Opportunities, and New Partnerships

Beyond policy discussions, the Forum served as an active platform to initiate practical cooperation and partnership opportunities. Numerous agreements between Vietnamese companies, international corporations, research institutions, and global organizations on green technology, artificial intelligence, logistics innovation, and smart infrastructure were announced during the event.

These collaborations underscore Vietnam’s determination to position itself as a leading innovation hub in Southeast Asia — a regional gateway for sustainable development, advanced manufacturing, and digital solutions.

Looking Ahead: A Future That Is Green, Smart, and Sustainable

The Autumn Economic Forum 2025 marks the beginning of a new chapter for Vietnam’s economic vision. With strong commitments from the Government, active participation from businesses, and support from global partners, Vietnam is moving confidently toward a future defined by sustainability, innovation, and resilience.

Anchored by the principle of “dual transformation,” Vietnam aims to build an economy that is not only greener and smarter but also more inclusive and future-ready.

As the Forum concludes, one clear message emerges: Vietnam is prepared to embrace global opportunities, lead regional transformation, and advance toward a sustainable, high-tech future.
